You Are Amazing

Hi everyone! I made a card for the Stamping Smiles Tic Tac Toe Challenge #12. Check out the challenge details. I used the top horizontal row, Doily, Layers, Butterflies. All of my supplies are listed next to the card. I really liked the way it turned out, monochromatic, with a little green and yellow. Thanks for visiting my blog today. It's almost the weekend - and I'm off for vacation with my children and grandchildren!! Yippee!!

This card is almost size A7. I bought the base at my local big box store. The doily is from Lifestyle Crafts Quickutz - "Sunrise Doily." I water colored the little bell flowers from Clearly Besotted, "Fresh Flowers."  They are double mounted using Spellbinder's Labels 8 die. The butterfly is one of Stampin' Up's layering butterfly stamps, and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Fab Sayings." I used some patterned paper from my stash which is white with a tiny light blue design and some of my favorite blue ribbon. I was excited about this card because this was the first time I used the doily, flower stamp, and butterfly.

I also used the Spellbinder's die for the "tag" but I had to create this specific size for my greeting. I do that by moving my Big Shot plates to do partial die cutting until I have the size I need!

Welcome Little One

Hello again, bloggers. Here's a cute baby card for a girl - but I don't have a list of supplies for you! I used several different stamps sets and some matching patterned paper. Colored the images in copic where needed, and stamped the others. Some pink jute finished it up perfectly.

Reverse Confetti Sand Dollar

Hi everyone. Have you ever wanted a product the minute you saw it? Well, I couldn't resist the SAND DOLLAR die from a recent release from Reverse Confetti! I just thought it was the most unusual die I have seen in a while. As soon as it arrived, I looked for some paper which would fit the image, but I didn't want to use white (I know most sand dollars are white!!) I had some paper I created with the gelli plate which has a lot of texture (it feels rough) and the colors reminded me of an ocean creature; how a sand dollar might look before it was bleached white by the sun. Call me crazy. I just love the look of this greenish sand dollar! AND, I created a stencil with the sand dollar to use for the back ground panel. See below for the details. I wish my camera took better pics so you could see it as I see it.
I am entering this card in the Reverse Confetti SKETCH TO TRY #37 for JUNE.
Even though it doesn't have three images, like the sketch, I feel the circles work just fine.

I made the Happy Birthday card for my stash, and I made several of the "Be Strong, the tide always tuns" cards for the card drive #PRAYFORPULSE. I crossed off "always turns" and wrote WILL TURN. I feel strongly that America will put prejudice aside eventually and accept everyone for who they are. This drive was organized by Dana Joy and Tony Macaluso.

The two pics below show the process I used to create a stencil with the sand dollars. I had to cut the sand dollar out, cut out a circle, and then use a sponge to add color around and in between the images, moving the middle of the sand dollar as I moved around the paper. I used Antique Linen Distress Ink for the sponging. I also used Sugar Pea Designs "Seaside Wishes" for the sentiments and sand castle.

This is just a scrap piece of mail which I used.
This is the die and the sand dollars I made with my                     gelli plate paper.

Thanks A Melon

Good afternoon blog land! This card came together after I noticed that my water melon slices matched a piece of cardstock on which I had sponged some distress ink! I often work on background pieces and then put them aside for later. The obvious accent color to add was black, and the card came together easily. The distress ink, Worn Lipstick, was applied to the panel and then I stamped the sentiment. "Thanks" is from Lawn Fawn and "A Melon" is from Sunny Studios "Fresh & Fruity" stamp set. The water melon slices, which were water colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush makers, are also from that set. So cute!

Thanks!

Patterned paper is one way to speed up your card making. But, sometimes it's worth the time if you create your own patterned paper! This card uses paper I created using my gelli plate and lots of stencils and acrylic paints. So much fun! I am entering it in the

Supplies for this card included - Simon Says Stamp "Thanks Scallop Border," Simon Says Stamp "Stitched Daisies," Paper Smooches "Dots and Dashes." I used white and pink gingham paper for one layer on the daisy and some solid lavender paper for the Thanks banner.

It's Your Birthday

Hello bloggers, I've been busy making cards but not adding them to my blog. Today is the blog day! This is one of the birthday cards I made which can be for a boy or a girl - orange being the predominate color.  I am entering this card in two challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday
Challenge USE PATERNED PAPER
and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Wednesday Challenge
ADD SOME SHIMMER.

The stamp is from Wild Rose Studio, colored with copic markers and surrounded with Spellbinder's Floral Oval die cut in orange. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, white embossed on orange paper. Last step, added shimmer to the balloons!

Autumn Greetings

A late night post! I made this card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #284. You can see the sketch below. I decided to create an opening in the card itself framed by the orange square ... and on the inside of the card is a little mouse popped up inside the wreath! The greeting is on the inside, too. Below is a picture of both the outside and the inside of this card. Below is a description of the supplies I used. Thanks for visiting!

My Favorite Things "Harvest Mouse" and "Spring Wreath" stamp sets, MFT Stitched Mini Scalloped Square Stax die, and MFT Stitched Circle Stax die, Inkadinkado "Autumn Foliage" sentiment, Queen & Co. Mini Jellies for enamel dots, and some pattern paper. The card is Smooth Card Stock (brown) from Elizabeth Craft. The wreath was stamped with three ink colors, and the mouse was colored with copic markers.

Copic coloring

Here is some coloring with copic markers ... my practice for Sandy Allnock's Copic Jumpstart Class!  I tried some "0" dots on the mouse's head for a variation in his fur and shading on the pumpkin for "round" shapes. I was careful about my light source (coming down from the left corner)
and shaded his head and ears, vest, sweater, and pants darker on the bottom right.
I think I am finally learning something!!

Father's Day Ties

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp
One more card for Father's Day. This one is for my older son. I spent most of my time planning this card and using some rectangle dies to create the windows; This is an A7 size so I had to figure out the placement of the rectangles, measuring from the sides and top. Measuring is not my forte', so I ws being very careful! Then I just used some pattern paper for the larger rectangles and die cut the letters for the word "SON." The ties are a die also, cut out of some plaid paper.

Father's Day Deer

I made this card for my son in law, a hunter. The bottom of the card was the first time I tried stamping multiple sentiments in a horizontal line. It was based on an older video by Jennifer McGuire. The top of the card is some pattern paper I have and the section with the deer is popped up. Sorry for the "not so great" quality of this photo! The card looks better in person!

Father's Day Fish

This card is for one of my sons who happens to like fishing. This photo is not so good. Looks better in real life. The stamping at the bottom is a combination of several stamp sets. This was the first time I tried this ... and it was based on an older video by Jennifer McGuire.

Sock Projects with the Grand-kids! FUN

An afternoon with the grand kids - They have been wanting to make these sock projects all winter. I finally got some striped socks and stuffing. Had the rest of the stuff in my craft room. Addy picked the puppy; Chase selected the pencil holder monster; and Daniel wanted the little monster. They all helped as much as they could. Daniel sewed some of the seams - I taught him how to hand sew last year. The younger ones just liked stuffing their guys and picking through the buttons!

Smile

Today's card is for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #11.  I followed the right side of the tic tac toe grid, "garden," "twine," and "scalloped border." I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Summer Garden .Below you can read how I made this card and the products I used if you are interested. Thanks for checking out my card today!

I had stamped and cut some flowers and stems from Technique Tuesday's Garden Flowers to match some paper I created with the gelli plate a few weeks ago. The corals and purples are so pretty together. I decided I wanted to make a bouquet in a basket so I found my basket stamp from Great Impressions, stamped it, add some tombow marker for more color, and fussy cut it. I arranged all of the flowers and used some PRESS & SEAL to hold them together while I glued the bouquet from behind. That worked out so well! Using Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, I cut two panels and adhered them together. First, I added some twine around the top of the basket and glued a bow on the right side. Lastly, I adhered some enamel dots on the middle of the larger flowers and used white stickles on the small purple flowers. I don't think it shows in this picture! Th die cut "Smile" is from Lawn Fawn, too. I colored some cardstock with the same coral ink and cut it from that so it would match.

I love you

The card today is made with Technique Tuesday's "Heartfelt Thanks," Essentials by Ellen "Mondo Hydrangea" and "Amazing Women." I was looking for a way to combine these two stamps sets for the Ellen Hutson MIX IT UP CHALLENGE for JUNE.

I stamped the heart and flowers on Neenah Solar White cs and sponged some color on them. These elements were fussy cut and adhered onto the scalloped panel after I placed a doily off center an some ribbon across the side and top. I stamped "I love you" around the heart with the help of a MISTI tool ending with "And that is all" on the right side. This picture looks a little crowded, but in real life the card is very pretty. That's for stopping by my blog.

Friend

Morning Bloggers! I was looking for ideas in my craft space to combine Essentials by Ellen with Technique Tuesday for their June Mix It Up Challenge! I think I found the perfect match!.
When I realized I was working with a lot of yellow, I decided I might as well try for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #11.

I had recently purchased some "card dies" from TT and one of them features quotes. That gave me the idea to stamp a wonderful sentiment inside the quotes from the Essentials by Ellen "Amazing Women" set. Looking through my pile of Gelli Plate creations, I found a piece I really liked in yellows, oranges, and pinks and decided to use it for the backdrop. Then I sponged Carved Pumpkin on the panel using a heavier hand on the actual quotation marks, and stamped the sentiment in black. This panel is popped up on the card.

For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I added some spatters in Carved Pumpkin and cut the gelli paper with a scalloped die. I used Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. So I followed the diagonal squares YELLOW, INK SPLATTER, SCALLOPED BORDER. I finished the card with some flowers from Bohemian Garden (Essentials by Ellen) lifting up the sides a little for more dimension.
Then, you can imagine my excitement when I realized I could adhere the panels at an angle and enter the card in a third challenge - Lawnscape Challenge OFF KILTER! - so I did. Thanks for reading my blog today. Have a great rest of the week!

Prayers

My daughter in law asked me for a sympathy card and I realized I didn't have any in my stash! So I made one for her and one for me. I used 2 stamp sets which are fairly new to me, My Favorite Things "So Much Love"  and "Spring Wreath." I like the way this turned out. It's not cluttered, but instead fairly simple. I had some ribbon in my stash which matched perfectly and helped to finish the card. I thought of adding some sequins, but not for a sympathy card.

Monday Challenge SUMMER FLOWERS.

Just a Note

Today I have a card using three stamp sets: W Plus 9, Purple Onion, and Stampin' Up.
I created a scene, colored it with copic markers, and did a bit of masking
to add a forest in the background. I popped the panel up and adhered it to some
pattern paper with a frame for acent. I am entering this card in the

For the Birds

This card is for the My Favorite Things Challenge 283, you can see the sketch below. I used the Tweet Friends stamp set, the Pierced Oval Stax, TCW Mini Moving Vines stencil, and some paper I created using the gelli plate.

Friendship

Hi Bloggers! I haven't posted in a while. Life sometimes does that to you! This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge MASK IT! and Monday Challenge SUMMER GARDEN!

I made this card for one of my dearest friends who lost her dad a few weeks ago. I also decided to pick a large flower so I could practice my copic coloring since I am taking Sandy Allnock's Copic Jumpstart class. It's been a terrific class and I am learning so so much! This is a Penny Black stamp set which I just bought recently. And the sentiment is from Rubbernecker stamps. It's new also! I love how this card turned out.
